I’m always fascinated by what AI has to say when prompted about skiing. In this case, I tasked ChatGPT with trying to determine what the “worst” – well less favorable – mountain in Colorado is. As we know, skiing is skiing so saying a mountain is the worst is tough for me personally to swallow. However, I asked it to use the following criteria; Terrain, Snowfall, Crowds and Accessibility, Infrastructure and Price and this is what it had to say!

Terrain: Ski Cooper has a smaller skiable area compared to many other resorts in Colorado, which could be less appealing for skiers seeking a wide variety of terrain options, especially advanced or expert runs.

Snowfall: While Ski Cooper receives a decent amount of natural snowfall, its base elevation is relatively low compared to other resorts, which may result in less consistent snow conditions, particularly earlier or later in the ski season.

Crowds and Accessibility: Ski Cooper is located in a more remote area of Colorado, which may make it less accessible for some skiers, especially those traveling from major population centers like Denver. However, this remoteness can also mean fewer crowds, which may be favorable for some visitors.

Infrastructure: Ski Cooper’s facilities are relatively basic compared to larger resorts, with limited amenities and older infrastructure. While it offers the essentials for a day of skiing, it may lack the modern conveniences and luxury amenities found at other resorts.

Prices: Ski Cooper typically offers more affordable lift ticket prices compared to larger, more well-known resorts in Colorado. However, the lower prices may reflect the fewer amenities and services available at the resort.

Overall, while Ski Cooper may offer a more budget-friendly option for skiing in Colorado, it may be considered less favorable by some skiers due to its smaller size, less diverse terrain, and more basic facilities. Again, individual preferences and priorities will ultimately determine whether Ski Cooper is the right choice for each skier.

How does everyone feel about these results? I have not been to Ski Cooper so it’s hard for me to speak on a lot of these factors. I’m interested to see what people have to say who have skied there.
